Revolutionary Rising

Sep 8, 2022

Today’s topic is my bread and butter y’all!

Most of us have learned about showing up and being seen through a super white lens. But that white lens is not for us because it places blame on us.

It tells us that we are playing small and getting in our own way but we’ve been conditioned to feel that way.

Here’s the good news though: once you know and truly believe that so many of the things you’re struggling with aren’t actually your fault, or a personal feeling…

…then you can actually heal your roadblocks and move on from the internal drama that’s keeping you from showing up in the world the way you want to.

So here’s what we’re covering in this episode:

  • Why it’s so damn hard to talk yourself into speaking up, being louder, and showing up
  • Common experiences BIPOC have that lead to you feeling “unsafe” or “unsure” showing up in your natural expression
  • How our family and community polices us to show up in “good” and “appropriate” ways
  • The neurodivergent + queer experience, and how that can exacerbate the assimilation “rules” we’re taught as kids
